TAIPEI, TAIWAN, October 4, 2010 –– In a recent research report released by Futuresource Consulting, BenQ remained number one in DLP segment and a top-two projector brand in Asia Pacific and MEA. The projector leader further demonstrated good progress in education market as the number-2 brand in Q2, 2010 with a growth rate of 116% for YoY in Institutional*2 segment and share of market of 17.5%. BenQ attributes this success to its long-term investment in emerging markets and initiative development in education segment – with particular focus on Australia lead market. As a whole, BenQ Asia Pacific aims to be the number-one projector brand with its upcoming full lineup product offering and channel expansion.

Futuresource Consulting Q2 report also revealed DLP technology as the favored trend as it surpassed its LCD competition for the third consecutive quarter. Following this trend, BenQ as the DLP projector leader, reached the top in Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, number two in South Africa and Philippines and number three in Bangladesh.

“It’s particularly rewarding to see our steady progress and continuous growth in emerging markets, and the results are promising. For several quarters we were ranked first in Indonesia with more than 30% market share and top three in most of emerging countries.” said Adrian Chang, President of BenQ Asia Pacific Corp. “We targeted ourselves to be the number-one brand in Asia Pacific and MEA with key focus on sales growth in emerging markets. We’re confident in achieving this goal with our full lineup of projector offering.”

A global expert in education projection solutions, BenQ held its leading position in the world’s most competitive matured markets. In Australia, tremendous efforts and progresses were successfully implemented under BER (Building Education Revolution) and DER (Digital Education Revolution) to have thousands of BenQ education projectors installed in state and independent primary schools, elementary schools and other independent schools. BenQ also ranked as the number-one short-throw projector brand in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Korea and demonstrated strength as a top-three brand in the worldwide 3D-ready segment.
